FAQs

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is a program under the NDIS that offers individuals with disabilities the opportunity to live in a more independent setting. They can choose to live on their own or with housemates in shared housing. Through the support of SIL accommodation providers, individuals with disabilities can lead fulfilling lives and maintain their independence.

SIL provides NDIS participants with a supportive living environment. Here, they receive the necessary assistance to meet their needs, which is determined by their individual care plans. This can include tasks like personal care and medication management. NDIS providers like Me & You Carers arrange the delivery of support and services in Supported Independent Living

The NDIS determines eligibility for SIL, but typically, it is based on the specific needs and circumstances of a participant. There are no specific restrictions on eligibility for engaging in SIL services through registered NDIS providers, so accessibility is not usually a problem.
